Chloe Milar, an 8-year-old published author and creator of the Chloe From the Heart series, offers a free 30-45 minute storytelling and publishing workshop designed for students in Grades 1–5.

Length: 30–45 minutes
Format: In-person classroom or small assembly

Chloe introduces herself in her own words:
“Hi, I’m Chloe. I’m 8 years old, and I’ve written six books.”
Chloe shares why she started writing (one short story from her heart)
Message: “Everyone has a story inside them — even you.”
💡 Optional visual: Show one of her books or hold up a printed manuscript sheet

Chloe explains the basic steps she uses, with help from an adult co-host or printed visual board:
Spark – What is your idea about?
Start – Don’t wait! Just begin.
Shape – Add details: who, where, when, what happens
Show – Share it with someone you trust
Shine – Make it into a real book (draw pictures, type it up, or get help)
Each step gets 1–2 sentences in Chloe’s voice. Keep it fun and light.
🛠 Optional: Pass out a worksheet where kids write their “spark” idea and sketch a cover.

Ask 2–3 students to share their “spark” idea aloud
Chloe responds kindly to each:
“That would be a great story!” or
“I’d love to read that!”
This part boosts confidence and makes kids feel seen.

Chloe wraps up with a message:
“You don’t have to be a big kid to do big things.”
Invite students to start their book after the workshop.
Offer the teacher a printable follow-up sheet (optional)
